IJM receives an Honourable Mention at the Prime Minister’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards presentation,after having submitted entries for four categories. The Anugerah CSR Perdana Menteri 2007 awards are given in recognition of companies that carry out strong community and social responsibility projects under the seven categories; viz. Community & Social Welfare, Education, Environment, Best Workplace Practices, Small Company CSR, Culture & Heritage, and Media Reporting. IJM was among the top three under the Outstanding Work in Environment category, and was presented the commendation plaque by our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. |

IJM garnered its inaugural CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) award at the ACCA Malaysia Environmental and Social Reporting Awards (MESRA) 2006 Presentation Ceremony, held on 3 May 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The Group was accorded 2nd runner up in the Best Social Reporting in an Annual Report category. On top of raising awareness on CSR-related matters while encouraging best CSR approaches, the ACCA MESRA is an annual event that aims to recognise and reward organisations who excel in disclosing their CSR activities through their sustainability report. This goes to show the Group’s incessantefforts and socially responsible business practices in its entire business operations continue to have positive impacts on its people, environment and society. |

IJM Corporation Berhad and IJM Plantations Berhad were both ranked 9th place in a top 200 PLCs Corporate Governance Survey Report 2006 – a joint study conducted by MSWG and The University of Nottingham (Malaysia Campus). An Award Presentation Ceremony was held in conjunction with this study, with the presence of Deputy Minister of Finance I, Dato’ Dr Ng Yen Yen to present the Awards to the recipients. The Group was accredited with the prestigious MS ISO 14001:2004 for its environmental concern & efforts by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd. To commemorate this history-making achievement, Dato’ Dr Mohd Ariffin Hj Aton, President/CEO of SIRIM Berhad, presented the certification to Dato’ Krishnan Tan before a thousand over witnesses comprising staff and distinguished guests. The award presentation ceremony was held during IJM’s Annual Dinner on 8 April 2006 in Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel. |
